Meeting Minutes of the
New Braunfels Photographic Society
July 11, 2016
The New Braunfels Photographic Society convened for its monthly meeting on July 11, 2016, at the Comal County Senior Center.

The meeting was called to order by President Linda Knox, who welcomed the attendees.

The minutes from the previous month’s meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report
  • The Treasurer’s Report was presented by Dale Wood. The club has a current balance of $1,081.02. The Treasurer’s Report was approved.

  • The evening’s program was presented by Bob Cook, who gave a great presentation on IR photography.

Old Business
  • Linda mentioned that the format of the monthly review of assignment photos has been critiqued by some members. In order to enable discussion and questions during the review of the assignment photos the board has decided to dispense with the anonymity for the next 2-3 months after which the club will decide whether to continue like that or revert back to anonymous photos.
  • After some discussion, it was decided to change the name of the assignment photo that receives the most votes to “Photo of the Month”.
  • Sandy Gilbert mentioned that the planning of the Foto Fiesta is on track, and that the deadline for submitting photos is August 15. Linda took an action to make sure that information about how and when to submit photos will be published as soon as possible on the club’s web-site.

Viewing Assignment Photos of the Month
  • This month’s photo critique was led by David Goodge.  The assignment was “Patriotism”.

New Business
  • Linda asked if there is interest in setting up a meet-up group and a coordinator for monthly excursions. Some members indicated that having someone taking responsibility for arranging and coordinating a monthly activity would be nice.
Open Discussion
  • Sandy Gilbert suggested that the club could undertake to photograph the Veramendi Ranch before the new city development starts. Many members indicated interest in participating.
The meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted
Jørgen Høg, Secretary.
